No more usage fees!
Well, it's finally here! As of February 1 2010, we no longer charge overusage fees on any of our accounts!
Selling accounts by usage level made sense in 2002 when we started. A given account would have so many gigabytes of transfers in a month, and anything over the limit would cost extra. Today, however, it's pretty typical to spend a lot of time on high bandwidth sites like YouTube and Hulu. Streaming radio (thanks, Pandora!) and larger and larger programs have all contributed to increased demand for bandwidth. We want our customers to be happy, and happy customers aren't worrying about how much they are using the internet. So there you go, world! :)
We have introduced a new line of high speed accounts to replace the old system and will be working to get people converted to the new account system. You don't have to do anything to avoid overusage charges, though -- it's already been taken care of.

Overusage Limits
I never got charged over-usage fees, but my bandwidth was severely limit when I hit 8GB.
Does this announcement also apply to me (and other Halsey) users?
Re: Overusage Limits
There is not (currently) a system to limit things in the way you are talking about. So if it seemed like your usage was limited when you hit 8 GB, it wasn't us. Give us a call so we can troubleshoot your system.
